International applicants to JD programs are required to submit scores for the LSAT, as well as the TOEFL. Most international LL.M candidates with a background in the study of law are exempt from submitting LSAT scores, but must still submit a TOEFL score. Ivy Admissions can help you decide which tests you need to take, and what your goals should be for admission to the school of your choice.
The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is a half-day standardized test required for admission to all 202 law schools that are members of the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). It measures reading and verbal reasoning skills to help law schools decide if a candidate is ready for a JD program.
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) measures the ability of nonnative speakers of English to use and understand North American English as it is used in college and university settings. Scores on the test are required by more than 4,300 two- and four-year colleges and universities, professional schools, and sponsoring institutions.
