International applicants to most business programs are required to submit scores for the GMAT, as well as the TOEFL. Some schools may accept scores for the GRE in place of the GMAT. Ivy Admissions can help you decide which tests you need to take, and what your goals should be for admission to the school of your choice.
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a standardized assessment — delivered in English — that helps business schools assess the qualifications of applicants for advanced study in business and management. Schools use the test as one predictor of academic performance in an MBA or other graduate management program. The GMAT measures basic verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills.
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) measures the ability of nonnative speakers of English to use and understand North American English as it is used in college and university settings. Scores on the test are required by more than 4,300 two- and four-year colleges and universities, professional schools, and sponsoring institutions.
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized assessment measuring basic academic skills developed over a long period of time and not directly related to any particular field of study. The GRE is used as a requirement for a wide array of graduate programs. It consists of analytical writing, verbal, and quantitative sections.
